1. Ice breaker:
Boom Chicka Boom, this is a "repeat after me" song. Repeat the lines after the song leader sings them. Stand up and follow the actions in the parentheses for each verse...

2. Introducing West Side Story:
West Side Story is a musical that takes “Romeo and Juliet” the drama by Shakespeare to New York’s West Side. The Italian rival families are changed by city gangs, but the story is pretty similar.
So we are going to talk about, belonging, love, rivalry, arguments, fights, etc.
A) I want to live in America song
They are talking about their life, comparing Puerto Rico to what they call America, which is the United States of America (USA).
Can we compare our life in Primary School to our life in Secondary School, maybe? Do we want to go back there?

We are going to work on a song that tell us about the story of the Jets, a gang in New York. They are fighting the Sharks, who are Puerto Rican. There are some issues raised here: racisim, territory, belonging, rivalry, etc.
